    Hello,

Can anyone provide or know of an existing tutorial on how to use Boris RED’s Depth of Field options for 3D objects? I’m particularly interested in exaggerating perspective as you would with a wide angle lens…or as you would with a “perspective view” in applications like Inventor Studio.

I’ve made a long rectangular 3D shape for experimentation, adjusted the camera distance and tumble (in orbit mode) in order to get the top in the foreground, but I’ve found that manipulating the focal length does not change the perspective.

    I’d appreciate any feedback!

    Hello Robert,
Are you looking for something along these lines?

    Hi Russ,

Sorry about the late response…I either didn’t get an email notification or missed it completely.

I’m looking to create this camera effect – an extreme perspective view in which the tops of the buildings are much larger than the bottoms, and all lines are approaching a single point:

Hi again, I’ve uploaded an example Boris Red file to view and reverse engineer. Let me know if it works for you or not.

    Russ,

I see how you did it, and it had nothing to do with the focal length…it was much easier than that. Looks like you got the exaggerated perspective by scaling the Z dimension way high in comparison to the others. I’ll try the same.

    Thanks much!

Yes you’ve got it but most important is that the scene is nested in a 3D container. Glad I could help.

    Gotcha. Thank you, sir.
