borders on PIP
Posted by Ron Black on April 14, 2008 at 5:09 pmWhen I user the pan/crop tool for PIP and try to put a border around the pip, it fills the whole frame. How to I get a border to follow the size of the PIP?
Thanks a bunch!

April 14, 2008 at 5:32 pmIt sound like you use the EVENT PAN/CROP tool. When you make your PIP with the TRACK MOTION tool, you can select the 2D GLOW, allowing you to create borders around your PIP.

April 14, 2008 at 5:58 pmIs there a way to use the track/motion tool and limit it to one clip or is it only for the whole track?

April 14, 2008 at 6:01 pmWhen you make the PiP at the event level and place the Sony Border fx on it and the fx window pops up look to the left of the word ‘border’ on the keyframe controller. There is a little arrow head. If that points to the right it will place the border around the entire scene. However if you click on it it will change and point to the left andf the border will be only around the PiP. I think it controls “before or after processing”

April 14, 2008 at 6:10 pmWhen you use the track motion to create your PIP, you can use keyframes to limit the effect to 1 event. However, since you have an unlimited number of tracks, I find it easier to give each PIP its own track.
