    im editing a hip hop music video and i wanted to use a black paint splatter type of border or grunge style heres a reference..

    its used between 20-50 seconds into video please help me..lol..

    ..if any1 can point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.

    sony vegas 9 PRO 64bit…if that make a diff..vid is full 1080 @ 30fps..

    Digital Juice has a lot of nice grunge splats and borders in their Motion Designer’s Toolkits. You might want to check those out. You may even be able to make some in Photoshop or Illustrator if you have the talent. Then you just drop them on a track above your video and change the compositing mode depending on if they use an Alpha Channel or are black and white in which case you would use Screen or some other compositing mode to overlay your video.

    thank you for ur help ! i may or maynot go the photoshop route.
    i under stand if i have like 10-15 images i can open sequence in quicktime ans use them as a video and from there follow the same steps u mentioned. never the less thank you for the detailed reply. ill probably use digital juice from now on.

    Actually, you can open images as a sequence right in Vegas. Just use File | Import | Media, point to the first file and check the box at the bottom of the window that says Open still image sequence. The images should be sequentially numbered and Vegas will bring them in as a video sequence.
