Border on Masked Picture in Picture
This problem is a bit hard to describe, so bear with me.
There are two video clips of the same resolution – A and B. A takes up the full frame, and B takes up a the lower right corner of A. Clip B uses a cropping mask and is shifted down and to the right. I would like to apply a blurred border to clip B, but regardless of how I set the Pre/Post toggle, it doesn’t work properly; Pre borders the whole video frame, and Post borders the unmasked section of B instead of just the masked section.
Is there any elegant way to do this in vegas? (I know I could clip the section of B I want, render it as a new clip, and then use that, but I really don’t like this solution!)

Try this: You Pan/Crop to crop B down to just the part you want to see but use Track Motion to resize it and position it as a picture-in-picture. This should allow you to add the border and have it work properly.

That’s great! This was a good example of when to use Pan/Crop and when to use Track Motion because while on the surface they seem to accomplish the same thing, the difference is very subtle. Glad I could help.
