August 10, 2013 at 5:55 pmOk you may need to Re-install the Adobe suite then. I have never seen that greyed out. Make sure you uninstall the Blackmagic before you do.

August 11, 2013 at 12:08 amAfter Creative Cloud, re-installing PrPro, is not easy. Huge download.

August 12, 2013 at 6:10 pmThis morning I uninstalled the BMD drivers, then uninstalled Premiere. I downloaded and installed the latest version of the Adobe Cloud Manager. Next, I downloaded and installed the latest version of Premiere. Before I installed the BMD drivers I launched Premiere and looked at the settings for Playback. There were three options, Adobe DV, Adobe Monitor 1 and Adobe Monitor 2. All were grayed out and none could be chosen.
I then installed BMD desktop video 9.7.7. I re-launched Premiere and looked at Playback Preferences. The system showed Blackmagic Playback as well as the three Adobe options. All were still grayed out and none could be chosen.

Have you tried resetting Premiere Pro preferences? (Re-install may not have cleared them.)
“To restore default preference settings, hold down Alt (Windows) or Option (Mac OS) while the application is starting. You can release the Alt key or Option key when the splash screen appears.”
(Sorry if this has already been tried and/or suggested.)

October 3, 2013 at 6:01 pmYes, the issue was resolved. In the Program Monitor pull down menu is a function called “Transmit”. When enabled the signal is output to an external monitor. When disabled, nothing goes out. Somehow I had disabled Transmit through some unknown key stroke combination.
