BMD video playback is not available in Premiere Pro CC

July 30, 2013 at 3:26 pmHey all,
I am running PrPro CC with an UltraStudio 3D via thunderbolt using BMD Desktop Video 9.7.9 and it is not showing up as a playback option in Premiere Pro’s Prefs. Can anyone help me in getting this set up. It used to work just fine with CS6.
thanks

July 30, 2013 at 7:22 pmDid you install the Blackmagic driver/software after the Cloud install?

August 9, 2013 at 5:47 pmI’m having the same issue, no monitor output, but using DeckLink Studio and Premiere v7.0.1. Today I installed the latest BMD driver, 9.7.7. While playback prefs show the BMD device, it’s not available as an option. I’m also running Avid Media Composer v7 and output works just fine.
Would anyone know where the drives are supposed to be installed? Perhaps they are not in the right folders?

August 9, 2013 at 6:15 pmThe Blackmagic Device listing on preview settings is the Blackmagic card you have. That is how it’s listed now. Just checkmark that listing as the full screen display out.

August 9, 2013 at 8:22 pmDo you have Avid or AE launched at the same time?

August 9, 2013 at 9:14 pmThe only time I have seen this is when another application has locked down the Blackmagic card or the card is not initializing. Does AE see the card?

August 9, 2013 at 9:52 pmI’m not a big AE user on that workstation and had not checked the output until you asked. Interestingly enough, AE sees the BMD card just fine and the output displayed to my monitor. I then quit AE, opened Premiere, but nothing had changed there. The BMD option is still grayed out and not an option.

August 9, 2013 at 10:10 pmWhat player do you have set in the preview settings? Set it to the Adobe Player and see if the option lights up.
