BMD Pocket Cinema Camera (Shut up and take my money)
During the discussions about the 4K production camera that Blackmagic announced at NAB, I remember someone mentioning they had also announced a smaller, 1080p camera that fits in your pocket. I didn’t think much about it at first, because I was interested in hearing about the other one, and I figured a lot must have been sacrificed on this one to make it so portable.
But at the last Premiere group meeting I went to I heard someone talking excitedly about it, and that made me curious so I’ve been reading more about it online- and I gotta say, the idea of a camera that has a 13-stop dynamic range, records in High-Quality ProRes AND RAW, records to readily-available SDXC cards, has the ability to change lenses, and costs just under a grand has me seriously excited. I want one…

Hi Greg: BMD’s new cameras, like the original one, are pretty amazing.
