Blue Ray Drives recommended?
Posted by Mark Palmos on December 26, 2007 at 7:08 pmHi there people, happy xmas and ny to y’aal!
Im wanting to buy a blue ray burner in the next few days but am struggling to find ones that are osx mac pro compatible.
Any suggestions out there? I think id prefer an internal since the usb lacie seems to top at 2x speed and im not sure usb could do much more than burn at 2x…

I can’t say I’ve used that one – but it’s clearly deigned with the Mac Pro in mind.

Thanks to a format war and not having a clear cut winner adoption by OEM’s has been very slow.

Hi Chris
I just bought one of the FastMac 4x Double Layer burners… it seems like the one to go for at the moment – gotta have it shipped from the usa – aaugh well, i will lighten the footprint by burning disks instead of buying hard drives!Catch yaal later

December 27, 2007 at 12:50 amhttp://www.fastmac.com is where we got ours. The internal unit for the Mac Pro. Around $550 and it works perfect. We use Toast to actually burn the discs and Encore to author the titles.
