    Hi, everyone,

Just finished my first Hi-def project and burned it successfully to Blu-Ray. It plays on my PC, but won’t play on either of the two Blu-Ray DVD players I tried. Both machines gave the same message: “Disk cannot be played.”

I rendered the completed program as

    Main Concept MPEG-2
    Blu-ray 1920 x 1080-60i
Video: 29.970 fps, 1920×1080 Upper field first, YUV, 30 Mbps
    Pixel Aspect Ratio: 1.000
    Elementary Stream

I burned the disk in DVD Architect Pro 5.0 using a Pioneer BDR-202 Blu-ray DVD burner and a Memorex Blu-ray disk.

My two Blu-Ray Players are a

    Samsung BD-P1600
    Sony BDP-S360

The odd thing is, I did the same thing with a 3-minute version of my program and burned a Blu-ray using the same settings to a standard DVD, and it played — although it didn’t look as good as the standard version I burned later.

Hope someone can spot the problem.

    thanks…

I know that discs are not cheap but have you tried burning another one just for testing sake? Some players have more fault tolerance than others and some are stricter on standards than others.

I would burn 1 other disc to ensure that it is not the media (use a different brand if possible)l. If that does not work and you get the same results try rebuilding the project in DVD-A and burn again. Currently Ridata BDR discs are 1.99 USD and LG’s are a bit more. Here is the link: https://dealnews.com/LG-2-x-25-GB-BD-RE-Blu-ray-Rewritable-Disc-for-4-free-shipping-more/349842.html.

Another no cost option would be to take your disc to BestBuy and try the different players there to see what results you get.

I have tried burning a second Blu-Ray with the same brand (Memorex) and got the same result. I’m also wondering if it’s not the discs. Thanks for the advice, I’ll give it another try with another brand.
