Is there a way to change the registration or anchor point of blended objects, so that the objects connect to the spine somewhere other than at the object center? I have two curved lines and I want to blend from one to the other, with the ends of the lines attached to the blend spine. Is there any way to do this? Is there another tool that I should be looking at? I tried pattern brushes and working with symbols, with no success thus far. I have used illustrator for basic functions for years but will freely admit I’m no expert.

Try using the Object > Blend > Replace Spline feature. Not sure if it’ll achieve what you need, but it will give you more control.

Basically, near your blend object, create another 2-point path, and give the endpoints .
Use the Anchor Point Tool on the endpoints to draw out handlebars and curve the path.
Select your blend object and the new ‘spine’ and .. > Replace Spine.

It might be helpful to upload an image or work file.
