  Blend modes, text on video

  When I add text in front of some motion content with the blend mode subtract, I get this: https://img231.imageshack.us/img231/6678/picture5yvy.png
  However I cannot achieve the same effect with a video layer in the background instead of content.
  Is there a way I can?
