It’s weird, I render a video under Internet HD-30 setting in Vegas 9 to upload to YouTube.

Everything works great, except that occasionally, the clip video has blank screen for like 10 seconds, and then has the picture back like normal. I play the video in Vegas preview and it has NO black video at the beginning.

I tried to re-render and it’s still the same, could anyone tell me what causes this problem? If the original video is NOT HD, should I just render as SD 4:3 to avoid this problem? (not sure if SD 4:3 actually make this problem go away).

    Appreciate some inputs,

What is the codec used by the video that renders black? Perhaps it’s something that Vegas doesn’t support?

It’s AVI file, Vegas support it, otherwise the video would be blank the whole time, not just a first minute and came back as ok.

If I rendered as SD 4:3 30p then no error or blanks at all. Perhaps something wrong with 1280×720 HD rendering?

Yea, that’s very strange. You might want to contact Sony technical support because it could be a bug?

Another repost of another black-screen when rendering:

I’m personally not so sure about this problem, but the thing you should try is to right click your clip, scroll down to “Switches” and select “Disable Resample”. I don’t know what resampling does, but it did the trick for me and made sure it didn’t render in black screen.
