    Hi all,

    I want to buy a playback device to use with my JVC DT-R24L41DU Studio LCD Monitor.

    I am writing in here in hopes for some advice.

    I want to buy something that I can use with a MacPro as well as with with MacBook Pro (2010 edition), and that works fine with Apple Color and Davinci Resolve.

    I was thinking to buy the Blackmagic UltraStudio 3D.
    My biggest doubt is about the Thurderbolt connection. I have no thurderbolt on my laptop (these are the ports on the MacBook Pro: https://support.apple.com/kb/HT4124).
    Do you think I can use an adaptor and use with my laptop.
    Or is there another possible connection?

    For a laptop without an ExpressCard, TB or USB 3.0 port, the only other options seems to be FireWire 800.

    AJA IO HD is the only thing I can think of.
