  • Black lines at top and bottom of 640×360 video?

Posted by Ewan Horlock on January 26, 2011 at 8:22 pm

    Hi there,

I have a standard sequence in PPro CS5

    720×576
    D1/DV Pal Widescreen Pixel (1.42)
    Progressive
    25fps

I am trying to export it for Youtube and vimeo and use the same settings I usually do:

    h.264
    640×360
    Square Pixels

My only problem is it seems to add two thin horizontal lines at the top and bottom of my video? this has never happened before.

    I tried opening another sequence

    1920×1080
    HD Anamorphic 1080 (1.33)
    Progressive

And it seems to work fine when I export to 640×360 Square pixels

    Any ideas?

Thanks for your time in advance 🙂

    Hi Ewan,

This happens because of PAR conversion. You will need to crop 8 px left and right at the top of your export settings.

sorry for the extremely late reply

    thanks for your help

I read that 1024×57 is now supposed to be 1050×576 in Premiere CS5

    This seems to work

With 640×360 …. should this now be 656×360?

Or is it better to just crop left and right by 8 pixels?
