Black levels?
I can’t seem to find the VideoFX tool that deals with isolating just the lowest black levels and raising or lowering them.
I know it must be right under my nose, but what tool would that be?

Kelly, try either Levels or Color Curves.

Sounds to me like you need to get away from the edit suite for a break.
I don’t know about the weather where you are but here in Windsor, Ontario it was a gorgeous day today with the temperature around 18 C. (mid 60’s F.) so get outside and get some sun if you can!! -

Sorry Kelly but I spent all day outside with friends sitting on the patio talking and enjoying the sunshine.
I’ll pay for it all week long though as I’m going to be locked in the edit suite trying to finish up a project.
