    HI,

FINAL CUT SUDDENLY WONT LET ME IMPORT FILES!

Working DV/NTSC on G5 Dual Gig (pre-Intel). Final Cut Pro 5.1.4

Sudenly I can not import .movs, or ANYTHING into Final Cut???

When I try to Import anything (either by drag and drop or Command-i) I receive and Error Message stating: FILE ERROR: Unknown File.
This happens with .movs, jpgs, aifs. and even pre-existing QTs captured in FCP(that all were fine).

Rebooted. Reset Scratch Disks. Trashed Prefs. Zapped PRam Rebooted.RE-installed 5.1 App and 5.1.4 Upgrade.
Same problem. Even if I open a new Project try ANY .mov (from asst drives that all worked and are standard DV .movs.)
Still can not Import anything into Final Cut.
I have also verified Permissions, (HD passes Utily tests,) trashed all prefs and FCP.pkg contents and reinstalled and updated FCP again. Same issue.

My Other Apps (ie: AFter Effects) have no import problems, and QT plays all the movies fine on its own.

ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEAS ON THIS ONE? IM STUMPED!

    ANY SUGGESTIONS?

    THANKS!
    TIm

Did something unusual happen just prior to this problem happening? Since you have trashed prefs and then reloaded FCP, this is very STRANGE.

If you have another User Login, try using FCP in that environment, to see if it’s the application or the user.

    This is indeed, very Bizarre!
