Bit of a weird one
Posted by James Ewart on November 5, 2013 at 7:00 pmTwo clips in the timeline went “black”, I had not disabled them with ‘v’.
Looked fine in timeline but black when skimmed over and played.
Quit application and opened it again and still the same.
Rebooted computer and all well but a heart stopping moment.
Thoughts????

I had something similar the other day:
I had a sequence on the timeline which played fine on the timeline but when I exported it one clip was black – the weirdest thing was the graphic over that clip was fine. To get it back I eventually made it re render by fiddling with the colour and the reseting it.

November 5, 2013 at 10:07 pmI’ve seen similar weirdness before due to corrupted render files. I’d recommend throwing away all render files for the project and event, that should do the trick.

Me too.
If that doesn’t work go one step further and toss thumbnail and peaks data away with FCPX quit.

November 6, 2013 at 10:57 amThanks…was not “offline” in the timeline but played black over that coup.
Pilot eror? Maybe…yes I should have taken a screenshot and will do so should it reoccur.
Thanks
