  • BIG project begins…looking for some sound advice. 8 cameras rolling at one point!

    Hello,

I am assisting an editor on a big project and in the next day or two I will be receiving some hard drives with footage taken from the following:

    8 cameras rolling at one point – 2 lipsticks (HD), 2 reds, 1 phantom, one 1080 vericam, 2 P2s.

I believe the delivery will most likely be to HDCAM but not 100% sure at this point…I am also not sure what different frame rates / formats all of this footage will be in. I know those are very important variables to find out about and I’m sure as more info comes in I will be able to update this post accordingly but for now I just want to know what / if any thoughts you guys might have in terms of seetings up and worlkflow for this project.

I am thinking to purchase the Gluetools plugin to handle all of the Phantom footage and then just do batch conforms in Compressor to convert all of that into 1920×1080 – I also will use ClipFinder to do the same conversion to all of the RED footage – but will all these other formats of footage and different frame rates I am beginning to get a little bit freaked out.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

    thanks in advance

    cheers

    Sean
