Big Problem!!!
I have been using FCP studio for the past year. I have decided to use Adobe production studio b/c of the dynamic link feature.
Here is my problem:
I have captured all my footage using imove HD. I’ve imported all of my files into FCP and have been viewing the footage on my TV screen via firewire. Everything looks fine thru FCP. I tried to import the footage into PPro2 and it says the file type is not supported. Now I can import this file into AE with no problem quality is fine. The metadata reads that the file is DV/DVpro NTSC.I have noticed that in FCP the size reads 720×480. In quicktime pro the file size says 640×480 actual size. I do not know why but FCP previews the video out fine on my TV.
I tried to export the footage out via quicktime pro (windows verison) and got the file to import in PPro2, but the size was 640×480. I even chose DV export. The quality is horrible when playing back the footage, but looks great when I stop playback (1 frame shot).
Another issue that is taking me for a loop is the fact that I have more footage from imove HD and all I did was type in .mov and PPro 2 reads it fine with great quality.
I know I can just import using PPro 2 but I like importing using my G5.
