    On the timeline the layers appear grey and the sound not heard. What is the problem? The picture below is what it looks like.

    It’s hard to tell from your screen shot but my guess is that you pressed the Mute button (circle with a slash through it) in the track header area.

    Press the Mute button again to “un-mute” it.

    Could be that you accidentally selected the “Mute all audio”, just as I did the “mute all video” setting in “Options”. If selected, you will not see the mute/solo buttons on the track view/main window activated, but the video/audio will be muted all the same.
