better mask manipulation plug-in perhaps?
Hi folks!
I’m working on bout 18 shots that require heavy masking manipulation. I was wondering if there is a plug-in of some sort that would ease a bit (or in fact speed up) maniupalting control ponits and handles, etc. etc.

If you are rotoscoping (with masks), you could use a proxy for the layer that you are working on. Or even turning the Mask mode to “None”.
Try Open GL, turn down the comp quality to “Half”, use keyboards shortcuts if that can help. That always speed things up.
Just a few recommandations.

Get Silhouette Roto. It works both as a standalone and plugin to AE and is much better in terms of interactive feedback than AE itself. You can’t do much in AE to speed things up – even changing the resolution as Justin suggested doesn’t really make things slicker plus it adds the risk of misaligned masks because you are not seeing the full number of pixels.
