  • Better Graphics card or processor?

I’m building a system to use with AE, Premiere, and a little 3D work. For day to day work, is it better to get a graphics card with more memory or a faster processor? I’m looking at either a Core 2 Duo e6600 2.5 GHz and a Quadro FX1500 with 256 MB or a Core 2 Duo e6700 2.66 GHz and a Quadro FX560 with 128 MB.

Given that both choices include a Quadro card, either will do great.

A faster processor is more important to AE than graphics card, and any 3D app will be quite happy with either of the Quadro models you mentioned. Go with the faster processor option.

A faster processor it is. Thanks.
