December 30, 2013 at 2:05 pmGlad that worked out well for you. Some people use WMV and get good results but WMV is a kinda old proprietary Microsoft technology and MP4 is what people should be using today and it’s compatible with Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS, Android, etc.

December 31, 2013 at 12:06 pmSteve, Johnny I’m not letting go. Well, not yet . . . .
Why not use the VP12 direct to YT encode and upload? I can understand the/your use of the SONY encoding – in a heartbeat – but I have to ask: Wouldn’t/isn’t that the same as the SONY to YT direct from Timeline encode? Why make things awfully convoluted by SONY by having the Vegas Users use something OTHER than which they say to use automatically.
I don’t understand.
Cheers

I don’t like to recommend something that I haven’t used. That’s the only reason. I’ve uploaded video to YouTube after rendering using MainConcept. I’ve just never used the automatic YouTube upload to know if it’s better or worse quality but you are correct in pointing out that it should be consider as a viable option.

January 9, 2014 at 11:56 pmHi Lukas, for video settings I would render in .MP4 (scroll down in the render box to MainConcept AVC/AAC and select Internet 1080 and click customize template) check 1920×1080, Keep the audio sample rate at 96,000hz and 320,000bps. As you have an Nvidia card, I would also enable GPU accelerated rendering which will speed up the whole process. These are the settings I use whenever exporting for an internet upload. The file size should be quite reasonable. I think YouTube also takes advantage of the H.264 codec so upload speeds should be quicker as well.
