  Best workflow for mix of SD and HD footage on same timeline

  Hi

  I’m editing a project using two types of footage.

  One comes from a Creative Vado HD on SD settings (4:3. AVI format, 640×480, 30fps) and one from an unknown HD Sanyo, which was supposed to be on a SD setting, but the files I’ve got are widescreen 1280×720 XDCAM-EX 29.97 fps.

  Predictably enough, my old PC can’t handle these Sanyo files.

  I’m upgrading to a proper HD editing rig this year, but in the meantime, can anyone suggest the best approach?

  What would be the best way of converting the HD footage so that I can edit it? And of mixing it in with the footage from the other source? Output would be PAL DVD
