  • Best way to ‘reveal’ another shot as a door opens

    Hi everyone.

I’m trying to create a shot where, as a filing cabinet door is opened, the next shot is within it. I know I’ll need to use some kind of matte (garbage matte?, but try as I might, I can’t get it right. Would anyone have a suggestion as to how to achieve this effect?

    Thanks,

    Jamie…

This is not easily accomplished in PPro, it is better suited to a SFX app like After Effects. You have to create a matte frame by frame because the area that you want to replace is changing as the door opens.

    Cheers

create a matte in the titler, set keyframes to resize as the drawer opens, use as a track matte
