Best way to pillar bar 4:3 video in a 16:9 sequence
Hello all,
I have some 4:3 video in a 16:9 sequence that I’m looking to add pillar bars to. I have a camera shot and the subject is narrating various video clips that I need to drop in sporadically and cross dissolve in and out of. I’m wondering if I should:
1) Add a 16:9 black matte to a video track above the video track with the camera shot, then add the 4:3 video clip on a higher video track. The black matte will create the pillar bars. or…
2) Insert the 4:3 video on the same track as the camera footage and let Premiere automatically create the pillar bars since there’s nothing on any “lower” video tracks.
Or does it really not matter either way? Thanks!
