Best way to manage codecs
I’m using a JVC HM150-U to capture MOV files that my purchased CalibratedSoftware codec allows me to view and edit with Sony Vegas 9. Since installing the codec, I can finally use these MOV files, but it’s still a little laggy.
But I’ve installed a lot of codecs since this machine was put together, and I’m never sure if I should try and remove some or if any of them conflict with each other. I ran Installed Codec and came up with the list below.
Anything seem like it should be disabled/removed?

The usual rule of thumb regarding codes is to never install any extras ones unless you really need it and then only from a trusted site.

MOV files, especially on an underpowered computer, will always be slow.
I use a pair of JVC HM-750Us (big brother to your camera) and record in MP4 format.
When I get back to my edit suite, I use XDCAM EX Clip Browser (it’s a free download) to re-wrap the MP4 format files into MXF format as Vegas handles these much easier.
Doing this also joins separate clips (such as a play) into one long one.
