    Hi,

I’ve been recording our sunday service sermons and posting on youtube/vimeo.
I shoot on Canon XHA1 and use FCPX to edit.
I’ve been using compressor 4 to export but it seems to take forever.
Is there a better way to do this? faster?
I’m running MBP 2.4ghz quad with 16gig memory and solidstate hard drive…
Clips are usually about 30 to 40 minutes long.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi,
if you want to do that without loosing quality you must take a matrox mxo2 or mxo2 mini with MAX technogy. That provides fast hardware conversion to h.264.
    Bye

You really should try using the Share menu to export directly to YouTube from within FCPX. They implemented this feature specially for people like you so you wouldn’t have to engage in complex processes. It is by far the speediest and most efficient option for you and the quality will be excellent.

Simon is right, we use this feature all the time for our web channel.

While this is indeed an easy way to export to youtube or vimeo, it takes quite long and during that time one cannot do other things in FCP X. And often I have other projects I want to edit after I have finished one project.
So I would like to do the uploading without keeping FCP busy voor a long, unpredictable amount of time.
I don’t have compressor yet, should I buy it for this?
    Thanks,
