  • Best way to create a 3d sun (or not) in AE for space

I have posteed before about controlling a camera in outter space. Now i would like to create a semi realistic sun in ae, i have Knoll light factory 2 and have come up with something havel reasonable , but getting it to work with other layers that use the 3d camera from 3dsmax wont look proper. Also I am looking to only have the sun shine from left side only until near the end of the animation (half rendered, half wireframe animation. If there is particular method to creating this with additional plugins I have a very generous boss.

Go to https://planetpixelemporium.com/sun.html download the sun texture (They have all the planets textures) apply CCSphere to it, add some glow until it’s realistic enough, change it’s color if necessary. Create a solid with the same size of the texture JPEG file, apply a grid to it, and CCSphere. After you have you animation done, create masks for each one to reveal the part you want.
If you want a more detailed animation go to the texture file and aminate some Liquify, to give an organic movement to the sun’s surface, and as you have Knoll light factory 2, apply some beautyfull shine on a different layer and place it behind your sun.

    I hope it helps.
