Best way to convert 24p 1080 HDCAM for import into DVCPROHD 720p 30 sequence.
Since the introduction of P2 we are pretty much a tapeless facility. We only keep a BetaSP deck on hand for making station dubs. Everything else goes out as a file.
Recently a client gave us an HDCAM tape shot at 1080 24p. I sent the tape out to be transferred to DVCPROHD 720p 30 QT file. The results were horrible. All of the horizontal line are stair-stepping. I don’t exactly know what the transfer facility did but I would like to get a couple of recommendations for the proper transferring process before I talk to them.
I thought it was as simple as setting your capture preset to DVCPROHD 720p 30 and load the footage. By the way, the footage was shot by Paul at Camera Copters. Excellent if you have the bucks.
