My writer would like to see all the raw field footage to aid him in his job. I have digitized the footage into FCP already and would like to find a way to output the footage onto other media, hopefully to DVD or CD (VHS wouldn’t work). I need a compression which wouldn’t take up much space, since the final quality isn’t of great importance. Looking at the export menu, the choices are many and I have no idea which ones to use.
I am rather new in FCP and also don’t know much about outputting, yet. Can somebody help me with this matter?
I would greatly appreciate it. I am not a computer geek. Just a simple artist. Therefore, explainations in simple English would be very helpful.
    Thank you very much.

Easiest thing is to go to your local electronics store, pick up a DVD Recorder, throw it into 6 or 8 hour recording mode (whatever it has) and just play the footage out from FCP.

You can make small H.264 movies via Compressor which you can burn onto a CD or DVD for computer playback. Simply export a reference movie from FCP and then open that in Compressor. Choose the Quicktime 7 Download (H.264) setting and just choose the lowest number.

I would also throw a TC window burn on to the video you send.
