I have captured footage from my Canon XL1s using the following capture settings: Firewire NTSC, DV NTSC 48 kHz.
I’m trying to view it in the best possible resolution for editing. When viewing full screen the resolution deteriorates. Is there any way to improve this? How do most filmmakers determine how well the quality of focus, color, etc. will appear as the final product on a television screen or actual projected film?

I’m a beginner…..thanks in advance for any help!!

We all watch it on an external monitor… hook it up thru your deck or video camera from the FW out of the CPU.

    Good luck,

Oh — remember… the pixel numbers are 720×480 for NTSC DV. If you are watching it FULL computer screen then you are at least almost double the size — bad for quality check.

    Hook up the monitor.
