    Hi all,

Looking at migrating to a new iMacPro and wondering what you recommend for external drive enclosure. Ideally 4 bays, ideally hot-swapable. Mainly used for editing in Premiere Pro and 2D anims in AE.

    thanks

I’m a Drobo and Pegasus user. Check out the Drobo 5D3 model, or the Drobo 8D if you don’t want to worry about storage for a while.

Thanks – will do. Are they quiet, and can you hot-swap a drive in JBOD format?

Now if they are hot-swappable, would they not be RAID?

Just wondering cause I use JBOD, Singles, and RAID for all data and never considered JBOD/RAID to be that forgiving.

Huge diff in speeds between them.

Pegasus and CalDigit work well for me. CalDigit can be out of stock a lot, though. But man their stuff has been solid!
