i don’t know if this is the correct forum for this but i’m trying to forecast our storage needs for whenever our station goes high def.

the three i’ve been looking at are:

    apple’s xserve raids
    huge systems
    g-technology G drives

apple seems to be the most expensive right now. we are not going to be using these for editing purposes, rather for simple data storage and recall of HD images and clips as well as back up of those elements.

does anyone have a preference or know of other manufacturers that may be better. i’m looking for the most reliable but, like most people, i don’t have money to burn. apple’s biggest raid was $13,000 the last time i looked…that’s a little steep for me. i’ve also heard that they aren’t the most reliable in the world. i’ve heard good things about both Huge and G-tech.

    any feedback would be appreciated.

    thanks

I’ve got a bunch of drives from Macgurus – they have a TON of different options… and I like the burly cases.

    Thanks,
    Harry.
