  • Best source for making 1080i and 720p videos?

We’ve got to output 1080i and 720p videos in various formats. We’ve gotten sources in 1080/24p, and 1080/29.97 and with both we’re having all sorts of ugly interlacing issues in the final 1080i files. The 720p always comes out looking great, but the interlacing on the 1080i is always problematic.

Where are you viewing the interlaced output? On a computer monitor or on a video (TV) device?

We’ve got an HDTV hooked up to the HDMI port of a PC.

I recently had an interlacing problem and it was solved by choosing appropriate settings in the Frame Controls box in Compressor and not allowing it to do that automatically.
