    What would be the best shutter speed roughly to shoot fast moving race cars? The camera is a professional broadcast mini dv three 1/2 ccd chips.

    I shot race cars for ESPN for many years and the most we would go is 125. Even then, that would some times look stuttered. There is no standard answer. Cars running at different speeds will look different. When we used studio type cameras, they were always at the normal setting.

    You will need to experiment with this one. Here is something to try. Find a car with an exposed fan. Start the engine and shoot the fan blade. As your shooting, change the rate and watch the result.
