  • Best settings to render out .mxf files in Vegas Pro 8.0?

    Hello,

Currently, I’m rendering out my 14 minute short senior thesis film using these settings:

For the record, I bought and installed the Raylight codec that allows me to edit the .mxf files in Vegas.

That said, will the render settings as described in the link play back to footage I edited while retaining all the quality of their .mxf formats? I mean, I understand that you’ll lose some quality, sure, but I want to stick as close to the raw footage as possible. Does anyone have any render settings they could suggest for me? I may or may not burn this to DVD, so if there’s a different render setting for playback on DVD and on a computer, please let me know.

And if you need to know any questions about the system I’m running, I’ll let you. The basic are that I’m running 32 bit Windows Vista on Sony Vegas Pro 8.0.

    Thanks.

DVD’s require 720×480 SD MPEG2 files (or 720×576 PAL). The Sony AVC template you are using is fine for use on a computer. I don’t know how close that will be to your original footage since you didn’t tell is the properties of your original footage. But it should be very good quality.
