Best settings for high quality video output
I want to import my DV video into Adobe Premier Pro (on PC) and need to know what the best, highest quality settings I need tgo enter to output the very best high quality finished product. I don’t care how large the file is.
Because I’m in New Zealand should I select PAL even though the DVDs I will output don’t seem to matter if PAL or NTSC.

The golden rule of video editing: AVOID format conversions like the plague.
If you shot in PAL, keep it PAL, if you shot NTSC, keep it NTSC.
If you shot DV, keep it in DV until you have finalized your editing. Only then convert to MPEG2-DVD for final delivery.Harm Millaard

What are you outputting from? for the highest quality and best compatability I would suggest if possible to capture actually using Premiere Pro. Im in NZ too, and really PAL, in my mind, is a superior format, and its the one NZ uses. AVI is premieres favourite format, just AVI uncompressed footage. Another thing is don’t try doing a software conversion from PAL to NTSC, it will never look good, always do it with hardware. And unless you need to show it to some Americans, always stay with PAL 😀
