8-bit uncompressed is the norm. 10-bit uncompressed is typically considered overkill, but some people are will to deal with the extra large file size, especially if their project will include loads of graphics that might show banding with anything less than 10-bits.

Meanwhile, ProRes 4:2:2 covers all bases pretty darned well — it’s 10-bit, with relatively small file sizes, and it looks great too.
