I posted a previous topic about creating scrolling credits here:
    https://forums.creativecow.net/readpost/8/1014572

In that post we determined that my best solution would be to create the type layout in photosho, and then bring that into final cut where I would animate my scroll.

However I was wondering if anyone had some thoughts on the best settings…

I realize there’s no standard “recipe”, but if people had any tips whatsoever that’d be really helpful.

From what I’ve gathered I would animate the Y-axis in the motion panel and then add a slight motion blur (of course I have no idea how much of one…

    Thanks in advance everyone!

    Hi Adam,

One of the things I don’t hate about Boris is it’s Title Crawl. It works really, really well. Buttery smooth and very adjustable.

You will still have control over type style, spacing, kerning etc., a huge advantage over a PS file.

TIP: add returns at the end of the roll to make the text go off screen.

    Have a wonderful day.

the problem is i have to combine left justification with centre justification, and boris wont let me do that — nor will it let me have the credits the length I want…

otherwise I would use it in a heartbeat (because as you say, it’s fantastic!)

I had not understood that Boris was a viable tool for you. This makes it simple if not direct. You want to build two separate movies that site next to each other and move in sync.

okay but again… the problem is the combination of justification (I cannot have both centered and left justified) and I also can’t stretch it to be the right length (it has a limit).

You can do what you want. I do it in Boris all the time.

ahh thank you! that should solve the justification problem. doesn’t quite fix the length issue but I can fudge it slightly…
