best render settings for HDV footage to DVD
Posted by Doug Kereszturi on June 22, 2012 at 2:23 pmHello all,
Hoping someone can help. Footage is 1080 x 1440, using Vegas 11, what are the best render settings for down conversion (720 x 480 widescreen) and and output to standard DVD?
Thank You!
Doug

June 22, 2012 at 2:30 pmMy new HD cameras shoot at that resolution.
All I do is set my project to DV widescreen, drop the footage on it, edit and render.
The settings are determined by the length of the program.
If it’s 70 min. or less, I use a custom CBR of 8,000,000.
Anything longer is a 2-pass custom VBR with the settings determined by a bitrate calculator.
My favourite (and I’ve discussed it on numerous times) is the one found at https://www.johncline.com/bitcalc110.zip -

Should it be project stream or dvd architect stream?
This particular project is around 5 minutes long
