I’m getting ready to start working on a project that will be shown on 65″ widescreen LCD monitors in a lobby display.

We will be shooting HD footage with the Sony HVR-VIU in 1080i 24p, and capturing the HD footage in Sony Vegas Pro 8. As of now, the plan for playback is a GrassValley HDMA4000 unit which is described as a compact, standalone, high-def video playback unit.

According to its specs, it supports 1080i and 720p HD MPEG-2 output, including native HDV.

    Specs also say:
    Video Format Output:
    HD: 720p50/59.94 and 1080i50/59.94

    Video Decoder:
    MPEG-2 MP@HL: 2 Mb/s to 40 Mb/s
    MPEG-2 MP@H14: 2 Mb/s to 40 Mb/s
    MPEG-2 MP@ML: 2 Mb/s to 40 Mb/s
    Full-D1, Half-S1, SIF

So, my question is, what is the best way to render this for optimum quality?

    Thanks for any ideas!
