best render for film festivals
I hope someone can help; I’ve read loads of posts and advice on rendering in Vegas and I can’t pretend I’ve understood it all and there appears to be different advice floating around.
What I did was shoot at 25fps on a Canon XH-A1 16:9 HD PAL. That was brought into Vegas and I want to render to the highest possible quality so that I can send the final film out to different film festivals on DVD.
Can anyone suggest the highest possible settings for rendering from Vegas for both audio and video?

If you are sending it out on DVD then you will need to render to MPEG2 using the DVD Architect PAL video stream template (or widescreen template). If your movie is under an hour, you can change the bitrate to constant CBR 8,000,000. If it’s more than an hour you can leave the encoding as variable but check the Two Pass option to ensure that you make best use of the bits that you have.

rest assured that with Vegas you are gonna get exceptionally

Thanks everyone. I rendered it as suggested and it certainly looks good on the TV; hopefully I’ll get a chance to see it on the big screen later.
