Best redering speed with i7 980x and 12GB Ram
I just upgraded my PC to a six core and was wondering what is the ideal settings in order to get the faster rendering times possible.
I played a little with the preferences but I find that when I enable multiprocessing it slows down my rendering times rather then speeding them up.
I got the following hardware:
1) i7 980x currently not OC
2) 12GB of RAM
3) Asus GTX 460 DirectCU 1GB Video CardSoftware:
1) Win7 Pro O/S
2) After Effects CS5 -

I have a similar system and multi-processor rendering is faster if you have the settings correct.
Read the Adobe help. There is plenty of info about this subject.https://forums.adobe.com/thread/543440
