    Hi,

I am trying to export a video file from Final Cut Pro to upload in the best quality possible at a site called Bits on the Run and then to WordPress. Because of some audio issues with the website this has to converted from a H.264 .mov file to a MP4 file using streamclip before uploading. Does anyone know of the best parameters to achieve great quality while maintaining a relatively small file size and stream speed in an MP4 file?

    Hi,

I use Quick time pro 7 very effectively for this purpose. I can tell you my setting which are in HD 720 p , but that should not matter to you.

    Here is the work flow.

    Open file
    Command E
    Export as movie to mp4
    Click options
    In video option –
    Video format – H.264
    Data rate- 9000 kb/sec
Image size 1280*720 (or whatever u prefer)
    Frame Rate – Current
    Hit save
    And that’s it
Oh ya and I forgot u need to save the destination file.
    Thank you hope it helps.
    Cheers
    Raj

    Hi Alex,
QT and MPGStreamclip makes nice H264/Mp4.
The data rate that Raj set for 1280x720p (9000 Kbps) will gives you quite good quality, but you can still low the data rate keeping great picture.
Set always: Key-Frames: AUTO, and always Multy-Pass.
