You need to set lowest possible ISO for this since increasing it gives you more grain which is bad for greenscreening. And try to stand as far from green background as possible so you’ll be able to blur background by adjusting AV.

Thanks. Have made note of the ISO settings. Any other settings on the camera that are important. (Canon Mark iii is what I use).

I know the importance of good even lighting, and standing away from the background.

What about depth of field? FOr example I read somewhere that keeping the green screen slightly out of focus can be helpful.

Any other thoughts would be appreciated!

Well, can’t give exact values since all depends on lightning, distance, etc., but the point is that you need to keep background blurred as much as possible (out of focus like you wrote). The reason is simple: blurred objects have more steady colors and less noise (which affects badly on greenscreening), so by having even distribution of background color you’ll be getting better results.
