  • Best place to save a project file

    Small question:

Generally where is the safest place to save and run your project file? On the computer internal hard drive… or on an external drive? In my situation the external drive would be a GSpeed Raid Drive. I don’t have the exact specs in front of me. Some of the media also lives on that Raid drive.

By having it on the external, networked Raid drive, it would make sharing projects much easier for multiple computers. I’m just trying to avoid copying back and forth to multiple computers and having them easily mixed up.

    Thanks!

    Hi Kaila,
The project file is not much important where you save it (as long as you don’t loose it).
The media always in external HDs to improve the performance of your system.

I like to keep the project file in the same file that holds my media for the project.
This way I can move the drive to different workstations, (providing you are not on a server system).

Just to double rubber, you can always back up the project file in another location. But the the best choice overall is to use a auto backup on a mirror.

    Hope it helps

    Cheers,

    Johnny
