  • Best option to slo-mo 30fps footage….??

    OK,….I’ve got a shot thats 29.97fps NTSC,…uncompressed from D5.
It is real-time POV footage at ground level taken from the POV of a car racing around a circuit track in the desert,….it is very fast, with alot of road jitter (which is good)….pavement rushing by at a zillion miles an hour..etc..etc….

Now,…I am hoping to be able to ‘dead time’ this footage byt slowing it waaaaaaay down for a few sec’s,….(e.g. from going say 80mph to going 2mph)

Anyone know what plug or technique might yield the best results? There are several options out there and I am curious if anyone has personal experience with any of them?

I prefer Twixtor Pro over reTimer, but ReTimer may have been updated. I recommend you download the demo for both, since one may solve your problem better than the other.

Keep this in mind though: your footage may be significantly blurred by the motion, and neither of these babies can take that blur out. They can just create new blurred frames between the existing ones, by interpolating between the existing frames. It could be a cool look, though.

    Hope that helps,
    Steve

Thanks guys. And yes,….I am very aware that I am asking quite alot! Just doing some research to see how far I can take it. We may not go in that direction due to this speed issue……

    Thanks again.

Maybe I’m not understanding, but how about Time Warp in AE7? Demo version has it.
