Best Method to Import .flv
Hey all,
I have a project where my only source files are .flv files needed to be edited in FCP.
I have never had to deal with this situation before. And the final project will be viewed via DLP @ 1280×1024.
Basically this is an attempt to take footage that was meant for the web and apply to a large screen.
What I need to know is what is the best way to convert a .flv file suitable for editing in FCP.
Any ideas and/or responses would be extremely helpful as I am completely out of my element on this one.

Download the Perian quicktime plugin:
Then use Compressor or MPEG Streamclip to convert to whatever you want to work in:
It’s our workflow for this situation and it works fine. Theoretically the perian plugin will let you import straight into FCP, but converting first will save the extra rendering.

Hey, I’m still having trouble, even after installing and mounting the newest version of Perian. Mpegstreamclip tells me i need to install perian. Final cut pro just gets the same error messages. I know this post is from a long time ago, but I could still use your help, thanks!

Hi, My name is chaitanya. I have downloaded perian plugin and installed on my imac. but i coudnt import flv to either quicktimeplayer or fcp. i am using quicktime pro 7.6.3 and mac 0s 10.6.6. any idea would be helpful in this regard.
