Best iso for bright sunlight filming…. 400 iso???

I have a great matbox and ND filter.
I normally always shoot at 800 iso but maybe with the

January 19, 2015 at 1:07 pmYou can always test it for yourself. I haven’t tried done really any shooting off of 800iso. If you are shooting RAW, then ISO doesn’t matter.

January 19, 2015 at 7:17 pmIf you’re not shooting raw, native 800 iso will give the largest latitude which is required in contrasty images.
You are basically trading grain for latitude and visa versa when moving away from 800. To decide, the director should view some test footage. -

Thats great news.
We dont really have time to do test shoots, thats why I was hoping some one had experience with this.

January 22, 2015 at 6:11 pmRight, ISO and color temp are both something you decide in post when shooting RAW. It’s nice to set them right when shooting as that info is in the metadata of the RAW files and is a starting place when color grading, and it also sets the camera’s monitor to the right settings.
Only when shooting to “video file” formats like DNxHD & ProRes does a camera need a proper ISO and Color temp setting for the best picture.

By the way, the dng files do not show me meta data (like iso, lens etc) in adobe bridge.
I use bridge to open the files in AE and color correct with that for now.
